Compulsive Overeaters Need Immediate Treatment

Talking about eating disorders, this disease has been suffered by many people around the world, most of the sufferers are female. Eating disorder is a psychological condition that is characterized by abnormal habits of eating. The abnormal eating habits can be eating less or lots of food. One of the eating disorders is compulsive overeating. Different with bulimia and anorexia that lessen the amount of food to the body, compulsive overeating is consuming food in large amount. The person who suffers from compulsive overeating is addicting to food. They use food as a way to deal with their daily stresses and problems in life. They are eating to fill the emptiness and to hide from their emotions.

People who suffer from this disease tend to be overweight. They realize that they have abnormal eating habits but they cannot do something about it. They have low self-esteem and feel guilty about their weight. The only thing that they can do to cope with the bad feelings is eating which make things go worse. They trap in that circle over and over again that makes them gain more weight. In the end, they choose to ignore the people’s opinion that advising them to cut down the eating habit and go on diet.

Compulsive Overeater has a risk of having many health problems such as heart attack, cholesterol, blood pressure, and many more. People who suffer from this problem need a special treatment to cure their mentally and physically problem.

  • It is so sad that compulsive eating is often not thought of as a problem like other eating disorders! It leads to just as many health problems!
